It has only been a week since Tate Stevens was announced the winner of The X Factor USA 2012, but he must get to work and not soak in the victory for too long as it was announced he will replace American Idol winner Phillip Phillips as a performer on Fox’s New Year’s Eve Live! Both of them owe their victories to Fox’s hit reality singing competition shows, but do you think it is a stab to the back for Phillips to back out because of “schedule conflicts?” The X Factor USA Season 2 winner Tate Stevens is not complaining, I am sure!
Phillip Phillips was set to be one of the performers on Fox’s NYE special, but apparently he had some schedule changes and it is now on Tate Stevens to entertain the crowd at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. The show lasts for 90 minutes and will feature performances by Tate Stevens, Lifehouse and Carmen Electra. Do you think Simon Cowell has anything to do with these entertainers? It seems like a big Simon Cowell production to me!
The show will be hosted by Marlon Wayans and will feature a cut away to New York City’s Times Square at midnight for the ball drop. This all seems like a pretty lame show to me, not that I don’t like Tate, but I think he will be the highlight for me and some funny hosting by Wayans. Maybe that is why Phillips had a schedule change? Phillips has had a lot of success since his victory on American Idol 2012 and he is in high demand.
